We’re having some legal trouble with this. I’ve got to close this down. I’ll be refunding everybody’s $5 in the next few days.
In a scene I envision in my head akin to epic scale battle from Lord of the Rings, the lawyers have finished with their wranglings as I alluded to the other day. As a result, some pressure has arrived on high for me to start this up now. Do you have a special needs member of your family? You’ve seen the videos, you’ve heard the testimonies. Because of previous Marissa’s Bunny events, we have 15 iPad 2nd generation WiFi iPads to give away on a merit basis.
What does this mean to you? How do you apply for one for yourself or on behalf of another? Here’s the rules you should know before you apply:
1.These iPads are intended for therapeutic purposes. We want to put these devices in the hands of somebody who will see a tangible therapeutic benefit from the device. We admire the people generating funds for adoptions of children both with special needs and without, but that isn’t the purpose of this particular giveaway.
2.In this case, merit based is based on the severity, immediacy, and appropriateness of need. A family’s financial condition is considered, but the need of the special needs individual is the primary consideration.
3.Special needs educators may apply, assuming the primary use of the iPad is for their students.
4.For this giveaway, you do not have to already own a computer to synchronize your iPad. iOS 5 will be available by the time we award the iPads which no longer requires a computer to be the anchor of the iPad.
5.We’re closing applications for this giveaway on July 13th. We’ll be providing the top 45 candidates to my bosses for their review. Both ours and my bosses’ decisions are final and not appealable.
6. We don’t collect, sell, or do anything nefarious with your email addresses or information. I hate spam and you should too.
7.This giveaway is being offered in the USA, Canada, the UK, Spain, Germany, France, and Australia. If we can legally add other countries as we go, I’ll add them to this post.
8.The rules here are a living document, and we’re learning how to do this as we go. If situations arise where we have to change or add a rule, we’ll post it here. Remain flexible!
Through all that? Here’s another numbered list on how to apply.
THIS IS CLOSED. PLEASE DO NOT APPLY.
Phew. That’s a lot of legally mandated words. If you, the reader, have any ideas on how you can help, or would like to sponsor some applicants, let us know. If you’re a reader, and know a special needs person, let them know about this!

This is how it starts until she makes it make noise. Scroll down to the bottom of this post to see what she does when she realizes it’s making the noises.
