We make an effort for the house to smell nice- between a stockpile of Yankee Candles and baby detergent, our old house doesn’t smell like an old house.  Lately, the pervasive smell has been Vicks vaporub.  Poor Marissa is on day three of her cold, and it doesn’t seem to be getting better.

Difference between today and yesterday?  She’s feeling it today, and is whimpery.  It’s pretty sad sounding, actually.  She may not be able to talk, but we still pick up on what she means by inflection and tone.

I’ve done a bit of research on the summer cold batch going around, and it seems to be a 5-7 day event from first symptoms, 10-12 days total after initial exposure.  Summer camps are getting killed with this thing, it’s quick to spread, takes a few days to get a hold of you, and there’s not much you can do other than perhaps rig up a rudimentary nostril vacuum to continuously drain your sinuses.  I may very well be in the beginning phases of the Marissafunk, but I can’t tell it apart from my seasonal allergies so far.

So, Comicon goers- this is the convention funk you all have to look forward to when you come home.  A variant of Marissa’s current cold.  You’ve been warned!  Hit a CVS on the way home, get some soft tissues, some Vicks, maybe some cough drops.  Find the warm blankets, make a nest for yourself before you nyQuil yourself into oblivion.  You won’t be sorry.

I was thrilled as of everything that was being given away it was what I really wanted.  My fairfax is now at home in colorado springs, colorado.  Marissa's story touched my heart.  Our birthdays are almost the same (mine's the 7th) - although many years apart.

Fairfax needs a stunt double.

Is it just me, or does the white cat seems a little irritated?

The first time I looked at the pic, I didn’t notice two sets of drums- both Rockband and Guitar Hero. Represent!  I do like the home made shock absorbers on the Rockband drums- those things are loud!

Fairfax (and Marissa’s Dad!) isn’t at all sure he likes AD+D v4, but 3.5 is perfect!

Schedule Change

Depending on Doctors, et al, round 3 of the Great Toy Giveaway may wait until next week.  NATO Fairfax has not as of yet checked in as promised, so that may get pushed back as well.  Best laid plans, and all that!
