Marissa’s Bunny
Marissa’s Bunny
We had an unexpected lull in the schedule yesterday, so befitting the season we packed the schedule. Yesterday was Santa day! We didn’t really go fully prepared, we didn’t know where the Santa was in the mall, but in all fairness, our dinner waiter didn’t either. So, fittingly, in the shadow of Apple Store #1, Marissa got to sit on the lap of her first Santa Claus. We didn’t visit last year- we just weren’t up to it yet. She dealt with it pretty well, no screaming or gnashing of gums, and Marissa’s calm helped a four year old (or so) little boy overcome the terror in his heart from the very large bearded man with the big jolly voice.
Before you ask, I only partially heeded my own advice yesterday regarding zen like calm and not wanting to harvest my fellow man for component chemicals because of their behavior in the name of the holiday season. It’s a work in progress.
Marissa Update
It’s been over a week, and overall, the increase in the Klonopin dose has been favorable. We do seem to have one notable side effect- we think she’s having vivid dreams. In the middle of the night, or even right now as she’s taking a brief nap, she’ll just laugh for no reason, very loud and dramatic. More jarring is the nightmares, though- she’ll still be asleep and just start to screech. It’s about 1:1 laughing dreams to nightmares, and it’s not all the time, so that’s acceptable, I guess.
Fairfax Update
NATO Fairfax is a world traveller! First London...

Then Paris

Then back to London again, in diplomatic service. He’ll be there for a bit longer, and I understand he’ll be visiting some very important locations!

No tears.
No smiles either, but it’s a fair trade.
