Marissa’s Bunny
Marissa’s Bunny
First of all, welcome new readers from yankeemagazine.com! We’re glad to have you by. The site has been around for some time, so if you wish, you can click here to go to the first post, or just browse around at your leisure to learn more about Marissa and Infantile Spasms. As a historical note, growing up in New England in the seventies, I think I read every issue of Yankee cover to cover from about 1976 through 1985- my grandmother was a loyal subscriber, and my young voracious mind tore through the pictures and stories like a starving man fed his first meal after crossing the desert.
She passed years ago, but I know she’s watching.
Anyhow, on with the show! Thanks to the Yankee Magazine photographers who made this possible. If there’s any pictures that you’d like to see the original of, just click on the picture to see it larger!
Greetings, new readers!

Fairfax and the New England Adventure
A bunny named Fairfax came to New England
He had left his home to find out who he really was.
He visited the local shrines...
...studied the works of the masters...
...and sat at the feet of learned men.
One day he met a man who spoke in rhymes and riddles who tempted him to join his friends.
But as they stacked green eggs and ham around him, Fairfax feared they had darker motives.
He tried to run, but was captured by the lanky cat.
...and crossed many rivers.
For a time, he fell in with a rough crowd.
He did what he had to do to survive...
...and was briefly imprisoned for some bad decisions along the way.
...and was prepared for the sacrifice.
When they weren’t looking, Fairfax slipped into the woods and hid.
He wandered the wilderness for many months.
He climbed many trees...
His estate stretched on for miles and miles, but it gave him little joy.
In all his adventures, all his successes and failures, he never found anything that equaled the love of the family he left.
One morning, Fairfax awoke from a frightful dream and thought of home. He knew what he had to do.
The next day he packed a small bag, leaving behind his possessions and wealth, and returned to the only treasure worth having.
Fairfax made his own way in life, and eventually became a bunny of means.
Once Upon A Time...
